Aside from language and culture, what was taken away was our bloodline, a skewed intentional intermixing and disconnection of who our parents, grandparents and so on are and were, even to where our roots are deeply laid into the earth.

This was purposeful. Mo’okūʻauhau or genealogy through the lens of Hawaiian Culture dives deep into not just acknowledging the names but accessing the stories. Many tread lightly due to trauma, hidden secrets, personal shame. Here we do not judge, instead we build courage, trust and healing to mend the fractured cordage of the past and rebuild a generational future that reclaims its historical inheritance.
