Niu Now
Join us!
Niu is Life. Niu Now.
Join us on June 12 | 9AM–12PM at Nihipali Homestead for a hands-on, place-based learning experience rooted in aloha ʻāina.
Learn about the cultural and ecological importance of niu (coconut), our Tree of Life, and the growing threat of the Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB). Deepen your connection to ʻāina, ancestors, and future generations through ʻike niu, food sovereignty, and community resilience.
Come ready: ʻāina attire, covered shoes, hat, sunscreen, water, chair, home lunch, and a small makana for the ʻohana. Together, we’ll create a collective gift of gratitude.
'Olelo No'eau
“Mau ka pono o ka niu, mau ke ‘ea o ka ‘āina.”
When niu is planted, we have our freedom of our land.
